VIDEO: Data shows accuracy of a new acute suicidal crisis state measure

ATLANTA — Lisa Cohen, PhD, of Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, introduces a new measure she and colleagues are developing to assess the acute suicidal crisis state.

“We have a good understanding of what the chronic risk factors for suicide are, but we don’t have a good understanding of the acute risk factors of suicide,” Cohen told Healio.com/Psychiatry.

The measure is based on the thematic apprehension test.

Cohen discusses data that found correlations between the new measure, past-month suicidal ideation and past-month suicidal behavior.
