Dr. Bye is Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, and Acting Director of the Pediatrie Pulmonary Division of the Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital of New York Presbyterian, Columbia campus (formerly Babies Hospital). He earned his undergraduate and medical degrees at the State University of New York at Buffalo, and did his residency in pediatrics and a fellowship in pediatrie pulmonary medicine at the Children's Hospital of Buffalo. Before coming to Columbia University, Dr. Bye was Director of Pediatrie Pulmonary Medicine at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
Dr. Bye is a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians, serving on the steering committee for the Network on Pediatrie Chest Disorders, and was the pediatrie representative to the Scientific Program Committee for the CHEST 1999 and 2000 meetings. He is also a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the American Thoracic Society. Dr. Bye has been invited to speak at the annual meetings of all three of these groups, as well as at many hospitals and medical schools.
Dr. Bye is on the editorial boards of Pediatrie Pulmonology and Emergency Pediatrics and serves as a reviewer for many pediatrie and respiratory journals. He is a chief editor of the textbook Pediatrics: An On-line Medical Reference. He is the author or coauthor of more than 75 original investigations, case reports, reviews, and abstracts.
