Gary L. Francis, MD, PhD

Abstract

Gary L. Francis, COL, MC, USA, received his MD from the University of Florida College of Medicine, and his PhD in biochemistry from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. He then completed his pediatric internship at Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut, and his residency at the University of Florida. Following training in general pediatrics, Dr. Francis specialized in pediatric endocrinology, genetics, and metabolic disease at the University of Oklahoma and served as Clinical Associate in pediatric endocrinology at the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development. Currently, Dr. Francis is Professor and Associate Chair for Research in the Department of Pediatrics, Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, Bethesda, Maryland, as well as Program Director for the Fellowship Training Program in pediatric endocrinology. He is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric endocrinology, and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Sub-Specialty Section on Endocrinology, the Society for Pediatric Research, the Lawson-Wilkins Pediatric Endocrine Society, and the Endocrine Society.…
