VIDEO: Congenital upper extremity amputees have ability to control myoelectric prosthesis

LAS VEGAS — At the American Society for Surgery of the Hand Annual Meeting, Michael S. Gart MD, discussed a study that looked at congenital upper extremity amputees and their ability to control a multidegree-of-freedom myoelectric prosthesis. Results showed patients can control these prostheses and this led to development of a new prosthetic rehabilitation for these patients.
