VIDEO: Association found between peripheral drusen, Alzheimer’s disease

SEATTLE – Ultra widefield imaging of patients with Alzheimer’s disease found “a massive amount of peripheral retinal drusen deposition,” Imre Lengyel, PhD, of the University College London, said here at the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology meeting. He said this “might open an avenue to explore disease processes by expanding to the periphery.”
