ATLANTA  -- Clark Chang, OD, MSA, MSc, FAAO, said here at SECO that the advent of corneal collagen cross-linking has allowed optometrists to improve quality of life for patients with keratoconus and save them from the frustration of experiencing constant change in contact lenses.

“It allows us to be able to defer the need for keratoplasty or even corneal transplant,” he said.
