Johnson & Johnson Vision Care to introduce daily disposable multifocal

In an end-of-year letter from Johnson & Johnson Vision Care – North America, President Laura Angelini announced that the company plans to launch 1-Day Acuvue Moist Multifocal next year.

“This lens will provide excellent vision and exceptional comfort to meet the needs of the aging eye,” Angelini said.

She noted that feedback from the eye care professional community over the past year was instrumental in helping JJVC create its enterprise strategy: “A declaration of what we believe our company stands for and a reiteration of our unwavering support for the eye care profession.”

She continued, “Since introducing this strategy earlier this year, we have been working diligently to strengthen our reputation as a customer-centric organization, dedicated to supporting your clinical, patient and business needs”

Angelini outlined the company’s major initiatives for 2014, including the October launch of 1-Day Acuvue Define brand contact lenses, “a new category of eye enhancement contact lenses that accentuate natural beauty while helping to support a healthy eye.”

Availability of 1-Day Acuvue Define will be expanded in the first half of 2015, she said.
