Bausch + Lomb continues investment in specialty lenses

Bausch + Lomb announced its continued commitment to specialty lenses in terms of product development, dedicated resources and practice growth support, in a press release from the company.

In 2015, the company announced the acquisition of Innovative Sclerals Ltd and reported successful integration of the business into its specialty lens portfolio.

Bausch + Lomb has invested £1 million worth of new equipment in the Hastings Plant where the specialty lenses are manufactured, according to the release. This was done to ensure production of high quality custom products with advanced materials and manufacturing capabilities for custom-made lenses.

“The growing specialty contact lens business has attracted a lot of attention from U.K. practitioners as they look to differentiate their business and offer contact lens vision correction for all their patients,” Graham Avery, new commercial lead for Bausch + Lomb Specialty Division, said in the release. “Bausch + Lomb has made a commitment to offer a new portfolio of exciting innovative contact lens designs as well as partnering with practitioners, and I am delighted to join the team to lead this important area of focus.”
