North’s Focals smart glasses can now be purchased online in North America through the new Focals Showroom app.
“Since we launched back in October of 2018, we’ve received positive overall feedback from our customers,” Stephen Lake, North’s CEO and cofounder told Primary Care Optometry News in an interview. “These are the only pair of smart glasses on the market right now that look near-indistinguishable from regular eye wear, including offering prescription lenses, and our customers enjoy the different color options and sun clips to complement their individual styles.”
The most recent evolution of Focals has allowed for consumers to go through the North sizing process online without the need to visit a retail showroom. Customers can now use the Focals Showroom app to go through the sizing process using an iPhone X or greater, the company said in a press release.
North will then take this information and create Focals for each customer, shipping them directly to the purchaser several weeks later with instructions on final adjustments.
“The evolution of eye wear that we’re working towards includes educating eye care professionals on Focals and getting Focals in eye wear retailers and optometrist offices across North America,” Lake said.
