VIDEO: Heidelberg Xtreme winners discuss FLIO technology

VANCOUVER, British Columbia — Chantal Dysli, MD, PhD, and Lydia Sauer, MD, discuss their work with fluorescence lifetime imaging ophthalmoscopy, a novel, noninvasive way to image morphological changes in the retina.

The two were awarded the 2019 Heidelberg Xtreme Research Award at the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology meeting for their research and work with the technology, which detects changes in the retina that can help multiple conditions including age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, macular telangiectasia type 2, retinitis pigmentosa and Stargardt disease.
