Golnik tapped as JCAHPO president

The Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology has named Karl C. Golnik, MD, MEd, to serve as president for the next 2 years, according to a news release.

Golnik is a neuro-ophthalmologist at the University of Cincinnati Neuroscience Institute; a professor of ophthalmology, neurology and neurosurgery at the University of Cincinnati and the Cincinnati Eye Institute; and a professor of ophthalmology at the University of Louisville.

“I am honored and excited to be selected as JCAHPO’s president for the next 2 years and look forward to leading the organization into a future that draws on, substantiates and continues JCAHPO’s history as a visionary in the field of ophthalmic allied health certification and education,” Golnik said in the release.

He succeeds Tyree Carr, MD, as commission president.
