Lensar acquires Precision Eye Services' laser business unit

Lensar has acquired the laser business unit of Precision Eye Services, Lensar announced in a press release.

The companies first formed a commercial alliance in 2014 and launched the mobile laser cataract service with the Lensar laser system. Under Lensar’s ownership, PES customers will have direct access to Lensar’s technology and its sales, service and technical teams, the release said.

“Our relationship with PES has been key to providing more surgeons convenient and immediate access to Lensar’s first-in-class technology, and this asset acquisition consolidates sales and training to support and expand that effort,” Nicholas T. Curtis, CEO of Lensar, said in the release.

Financial terms of the deal were not announced.
