Abstract

We are very pleased to have Miss Ruth Sleeper, member of the Editorial Board for The Journal of Nursing Education and Director of the School of Nursing and Nursing Service at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, as guest editor for this theme issue of the journal.

The articles selected by Miss Sleeper for this issue deal with the increasingly important subject of continuing or inservice education for nursing personnel and faculty in schools of nursing. The contributing authors are nurse educators representing the various types of nursing programs, and we believe you will find their experience and suggestions helpful to you in planning for your own in-service educational programs.

We invite your comments about this and future theme issues of The Journal of Nursing Education. The theme of the August issue will be Nursing Research, and Dean Lulu Hassenplug of the University of California will be guest editor.

The McGraw-Hill staff join me in thanking you for your continued interest and enthusiastic response to our request for renewal subscriptions. It is our continued pleasure to make The Journal of Nursing Education available to you.…
