Abstract

In the Letter to the Editor printed in the September issue of the Journal (Vol. 30, No. 9, p. 4), the bulleted list contained some improperly worded information. The information should have appeared as follows:

The John A. Hartford Geriatric Nursing Institute at New York University, led by Dr. Mathy Mezey and Dr. Terry Fulmer, has raised the consciousness of nursing, other professional providers and consumers to the needs of older adults in all settings. The Institute has contributed significantly to the training of nurses to care for older adults through a variety of effective mechanisms such as:

* Widely disseminating geriatric nursing best practices and model geriatric nursing curricula.

* Providing grantsmanship seminars for geriatric nursing faculty.

* Elevating the standard of care of older adults in hospitals with the Nurses to Improve Care of Hospitalized Elders (NICHE) program.…
