Study Aims for the Heart

Abstract

The Alliance for Aging Research is conducting a risk analysis study to examine the treatment of elevated cholesterol levels in older Americans with heart disease. A retrospective examination of doctor's office visits nationwide, this study will examine whether insurance coverage affects the use of cholesterol-lowering statin drug use among older adults.

In addition to the risk analysis study, the Alliance will conduct a consumer survey of older adults who have had heart attacks to assess their knowledge of cholesterol control and their perceptions of cardiovascular disease risk.

For more information, contact the Alliance, 2021 K Street NW, Suite 305, Washington, DC 20006, or call (202) 293-2856.…
