Understanding the Jewish Holidays
The Jewish Holidays: An Overview is a guide to all of the lewish holidays specifically designed for caregivers at long-term care facilities and congregate senior housing sites that care for frail Jewish elders. The guide provides the basic information necessary to understand and meet the spiritual and religious needs of Jewish residents.
Written by Rabbi Sam Seicol, spiritual leader at Boston's Hebrew Rehabilitation Center for Aged, The Jewish Holidays: An Overview, is an easy-to-read and easy-to-understand guide to all significant Jewish holidays. Each holiday is discussed in relationship to its history, meaning, practices and observances, common foods and rituals. It also includes suggested activities and programs for each of the holidays. This guide will help staff be more sensitive to Jewish traditions and customs, thus making residents more comfortable in their surroundings.
"I wrote this book for caregivers and activity directors so that every Jewish holiday can be recognized for its significance to the Jewish elders under their care," Rabbi Seicol said. "It is a wonderful resource for every long-term care facility that has a Jewish resident population."

The Next Generation In Lift Design
The Arjo Maximove advances lift design and technology. The Maximove offers a unique tilting spreader bar as well as head and body support slings that cradle the patient in a comfortable, semi-reclined position.
The Maximove's design also provides a lifting capacity of 420 pounds, and optional electronic scale for easy, accurate weighing during routine patient transfers, and a dual battery power source for reliable operation.
The Lift provides the solution to one of the most difficult tasks caregivers face - lifting a patient who has fallen to the floor. The Maximove, with its extensive lifting range, can raise the fallen person safely and comfortably, while a handheld control with long extension allows the caregiver to stay close to the patient.
A detachable jib, the Arjo Maximove Combi, permits the caregiver to attach three different systems, including:
Option One: A detachable four-point spreader bar, which will perform the majority of daily lifting requirements, such as lifting from bed, chair, floor, toilet, etc.
Option Two: A threepoint spreader bar allows the use of Arjo loop slings to support patients with contracted or "windswept" limbs.
Option Three: A detachable stretcher frame, which supports two types of stretchers. A soft, onepiece sling stretcher is available for supporting patients in a supine position.
