AHCA Awards Long-Term Care Facilities Dedicated to CQI

Abstract

The American Health Care Association has awarded its new AHCA Quality Award to 15 longterm care facilities who demonstrated a strong commitment to implementing the principles of continuous quality improvement (CQI).

Modeled after criteria from the Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award, the nation's premier award recognizing quality achievement, AHCA's new award is designed to support continuous quality improvement efforts in the long-term care industry by promoting quality awareness and education and by recognizing achievements in the quality improvement area.

Winning applicants were recognized for developing solid mission statements, identifying their principal customers and their expectations, and for showing a keen understanding of residents' needs.
