NU-HOPE adhesive, which has a built-in dauber, dries in minutes. It also has the ability to repel effluent without having to remove the adhesive or start over. In addition, it protects the skin from urine if the pouch opening is larger than the actual stoma size.

Medication Trays Are Designed for Long Life

Raymo Products Inc. has a line of light-weight, rigid medication trays that allow easy handling due to its finger-lift side openings. Every tray holds cups for 1 1 /2 oz. of liquid, pills or capsules, and /or space for syringe supplies.

Pump Action Wheelchair Offers Users Greater Mobility

Bathing System Offers Barrier-Free Tub Access

Arjo Inc.'s Carousel, a new bathing system, offers an alternative to manual lifting and rotation of ambulatory and partially-dependent individuals into traditional door tubs. A rotating swivel seat design reduces the risk of back injury to staff members.

The Carousel's pivoting chair, which includes the seat and surrounding chair wall, offers 230-degree rotation for flexible entry into the tub. The seat height it 19 1/4 inches from the floor, and a removable leg rest elevates individual's legs to the proper height for rotation into the tub section.

Tablet Form of CholesterohLoworing Drug Available

Bristol-Myers Squibb Company has introduced a new tablet form of Questran, which is widely used for cholesterol-lowering drug therapy. The new Questran tablets versus the Questran powders will provide a more convenient dosing regimen, which may enhance patient compliance. Questran powders will continue to be produced.

Questran tablets are indicated as an adjunct to diet for the reduction of elevated cholesterol in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia who do not respond adequately to diet alone.

Information on Alternative Prostate Canter Treatment

Amersham Healthcare is offering free information on an alternative to traditional prostate cancer treatment. "Seed" implantation therapy is an emerging non-surgical option for early-stage prostate cancer.

Seed implantation is a procedure in which tiny low-level radiation pellets are inserted directly into the cancerous prostate. The procedure minimizes the trauma, complications and side effects associated with surgery, while avoiding the risks of delaying treatment until the cancer progresses.

Personal Communication Systems, Inc.'s CareLine Emergency Response System is the first non-fee, personal emergency response system offering confirmed message delivery. Sears Roebuck and Co. have entered into an agreement with Personal Communication Systems, Inc. to have the system available at Sears Shop at Home services.
