Anderson Inducted Into American Academy of Nursing

Abstract

Elizabeth T. Anderson, DrPH, RN, professor and chairperson of the Department of Community Health and Gerontology in the School of Nursing at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, has been inducted into the American Academy of Nursing (AAN).

During the annual meeting, Dr. Anderson was one of 50 to be elected as a fellow into the academy. She is recognized for the formulation and development of a community-focused approach to community health nursing practice and education. Her work has contributed significantly to creating a positive image for this particular area of nursing.

Acceptance into the academy is based upon a nominee's contributions to nursing. The AAN currently has 476 fellows.…
