The National Association of Orthopaedic Nurses will hold its Eighth Annual Congress at the Phoenix Civic Plaza. Based on Orthopaedic Nursing Practice: Process and Outcome Criteria for Selected Diagnoses, the five-day program will feature real-world applications of this recent NAON publication. AHPA National Scientific Meeting

The Arthritis Health Professions Association (AHPA) Meeting will take place in Houston, in conjunction with the American Rheumatism Association. A preconference symposium on pain management is set for May 24. Featured speakers from the Johnson Space Center will discuss their study on the effect of weightlessness and bed rest on the development of osteoporosis. Keynote speaker Carolyn Wiener, PhD, will explore the concept of patients as nonsalaried workers in the management of their own chronic illness.
