Mary Gauthier Elected

Historian of the ONHA

Mary Gauthier, RN, Director of Resident Care (director of nursing) of Regency Manor Nursing Home, Port Hope, was elected historian of the Ontario Nursing Home Association at the 21st annual meeting of the ONHA at the Constellation Hotel, Toronto on October 9.

Mrs. Gauthier, a graduate of Kings College Hospital, London, England, entered the nursing home field in 1972 as Director of Resident Care at Trent Valley Lodge, Trenton. She has been Director of Resident Care at Regency Manor for the past four years.

Mrs. Gauthier has been active at both the association regional level and as a member of ONHA committees. She was elected 2nd vicepresident of Region 3, which includes Port Hope, earlier in 1980. In 1977 and 1979 she was chairman of the ONH A's Activation Committee, which includes representatives with expertise in activation. In 1979 she was a member of a combined committee of members of the Ontario Ministry of Health and the ONHA that developed nursing home forms; these are now available and have created interest throughout North America.

Mrs. Gauthier is a member of the Ontario Psycho-Geriatric Association and is Federation Promotion Chairman of the Business and Professional Women's Club of Cobourg.…
