Through a Mirror at Eighty

Elizabeth Thomson Dorsey

Abstract

Another pearl of wisdom

I found along the way,

Humility was added,

To my cup of joy today.

Another joy, another friend,

I'll treasure always

A bright new year, has welcomed me

To feel-to care, and share

Time-has been extended.

I grasp this precious thing

That finds me retrospective

And I raise my voice to sing

I must not treat it casually,

Hut always be aware

Of nature's wond'rous treasures

So powerful and fair,

I've glimpsed the Heavens

In starry array

And watched the sunrise

At break of day

Oh! wond'rous gift, to be a part

Of all that touches the human heart

Hours of gladness, hours that shine

With gratitude

For love Divine

How can I thank, my Father above

For such a deep

And compelling love

I count my blessings

One by one

And breathe a prayer

To the setting sun

For just being.
