Within the close partnership with European Society for Trauma and Emergency Surgery (ESTES), EFORT will hold a symposium at the 16th European Congress for Trauma and Emergency Surgery (ECTES) in Amsterdam.

The symposium will be held Monday 11 May from 10:30 to 12:00. Proximal Femur Fractures – What Makes The Difference? is organized by the Trauma Education Committee of EFORT.

The lectures cover the following topics:

  • the influence of OR timing;
  • the advantages of different implants for fixation;
  • the causes of failure of proximal femur fixations; and
  • the problem of anticoagulation therapies.

Finally, the results of a European survey regarding the preferred choice of treatment for different fracture patterns will be presented.
