Captiva Spine announced it has received 510(k) clearance from the FDA to market its enhanced TowerLOX MIS Pedicle Screw System, which includes the patent-pending PivoQuik Rod Inserter and Tower Guide, to offer surgeons simple and quick rod alignment and placement, according to a press release.

The system now includes new capabilities for surgeons to improve control and allow for less invasive rod delivery and reduction. Its patent-pending Modular Open Tower, a proprietary locking mechanism, is designed to prevent tower detachment and allows for rod insertion and visualization through the central shaft. The system also features a reduction set screw driver to allow for rod reduction through the tower without wound expansion, while also driving the set screw to reduce the number of procedural steps.

Finally, the PivoRod is designed to provide surgeons with an efficient rod angle adjust and easy detachment for the inserter, according to the release.
