PogoTec developing augmented reality system

PogoTec has announced the development of a binocular augmented reality system, PogoAR.

PogoAR was designed to operate with most existing eye wear styles, resulting in an AR platform that is convenient, fashionable and easily portable, the company stated in a press release.

The PogoAR system is being built with a binocular vision system that is small enough to attach to the top of most eyeglass frames, including clear prescription eyeglasses and nonprescription sunglasses.

Svetlana Samoilova has been hired as PogoTec’s vice president of augmented reality. According to the release, she has experience engineering new technology efforts after serving as senior director of engineering of HoloLens at Microsoft as well as director of mobile devices at Apple Inc.

“Augmented reality is changing the way we see our world, and the market for AR is growing significantly,” Samoilova said in the release. “I’m excited to lead the team that is creating the first consumer-friendly, lightweight and economical binocular AR system that is attachable to nearly all eye wear.”
