In the third installment of a three-part video series, Heather Stefanski, MD, PhD, discusses the impact of COVID-19 on the National Marrow Donor Program/Be The Match.

“One of the common questions we received ... is what to do when a donor tests positive for COVID-19,” Stefanski — vice president of medical services for National Marrow Donor Program/Be The Match — told Healio.

Researchers evaluated post-transplant survival and outcomes among patients who received a product from a donor who had tested positive for COVID-19 and had outcomes reported to Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research.

In this video, Stefanski provides an overview of the favorable early outcomes observed.
