“In his time as interim, Marty has acquired new talent, aligned our medical teams to advance patient care and enhanced surgical procedures — all during a pandemic,” Rod Hanners, CEO of Keck Medicine of USC, said in a press release. “His commitment to putting patients first and creating a work environment where health care providers can thrive make him an ideal leader for Keck Medicine.”

Sargeant previously served as chief operating officer for USC Norris Cancer Hospital and Keck Hospital of USC. He also served as chief operating officer for City of Hope and held multiple positions during 17 years with Cleveland Clinic.
