In this video, Matthew A. Steliga, MD, highlights presentations in tobacco cessation given at this year’s International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer World Conference on Lung Cancer.

“As surgeons, we’re not just here to do more surgery, or medical oncologists aren’t just there to give chemotherapy, or radiation oncologists aren’t just prescribing more fractions,” Steliga, thoracic surgeon and associate professor at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, said.

“But we’re doing things to help people live longer — and better — lives. Getting people the help they need to quit smoking can get them longer and better lives and better chances at that.”
