The Mayo Clinic Diet has been named the best commercial diet and tied with Weight Watchers, according to the U.S. News & World Report 2017 best diet rankings.
“We are honored to be recognized for a weight-loss method that offers lasting results,” Donald Hensrud, MD, medical editor of the Mayo Clinic Diet and director of the Mayo Clinic Healthy Living Program, said in a press release. “With two-thirds of Americans overweight or obese, we know that managing a healthy weight can be challenging, but when people see results quickly, they feel empowered to continue on their journey to a healthier weight.”
The Mayo Clinic Diet promotes offering effective and simple ways to change an individual’s lifestyle to lose unwanted weight and keep it off. The second phase, called Live It!, helps dieters transition these new habits into a healthy lifestyle.
Additionally, the diet is not restrictive and focuses on adding fruits and vegetables and other healthy choices.
