Target Audience: General Sessions

The intended audience for the activity is ophthalmologists and other health care professionals involved in the treatment of patients with ocular disorders.

Learning Objectives: General Sessions

Upon successful completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

  • Examine new trends in cataract surgery such as the use of digital technology, ergonomics, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, IOL formulas and options, as well as other strategies that can improve postoperative care.
  • Review complex cases and complications management in cataract and refractive surgery.
  • Examine case presentations related to the medical and surgical management of corneal conditions.
  • Summarize new information about IOL technology and techniques, as well as practice pearls for lens-based refractive surgery.
  • Evaluate state-of-the-science astigmatism management as it relates to corneal conditions, as well as the use of digital technology, toric IOLs, limbal relaxing incisions, and enhancements.
  • Analyze the safety and efficacy of new or refined strategies for managing corneal health, including the use of anti-infective and anti-inflammatory drugs, as well as the latest evidence on the treatment of dry eye and ocular allergy.
  • Evaluate new innovations, cases, and videos pertaining to corneal-based and lens-based refractive surgical procedures.
  • Assess new evidence about the medical and surgical management of retinal vascular disorders.
  • Review the latest medical and surgical advances in glaucoma and their efficacy in reducing progression of disease.
  • Summarize new updates in the diagnosis of neuro-ophthalmic disorders.
  • Examine new trends in practice management and how they can improve overall patient care.
