15 tips to help you plan

  1. CME/CNE/COE CREDITS: Hawaiian Eye and Retina offer separate educational programs where comprehensive ophthalmologists can earn 31.75 CME credits, retina specialists can earn 26 CME credits, nurses/allied health professionals can earn 17.5 CNE/JCAHPO credits and administrators can earn 17.5 COE credits.
  2. REGISTRATION SAVINGS: Register by June 30 to save up to $210 and by September 30 to save up to $110 (use a priority code to redeem the maximum savings).
  3. GROUP DISCOUNTS: Groups of 3 or more receive the deepest discount on nurse and administrator registrations with the Practice Plan discount. Download the group registration form or register by calling 1-877-307-5225 ext. 219 or ext. 476.
  4. HOTEL ROOMS: You must register before you can reserve a hotel room under the meeting room block. Our block is open as of April 22 at 10:00 am (ET) and often sells out by August/September. Reduced rates will be available at the Grand Hyatt Kauai and Koloa Landing Resort at Poipu.
  5. FLIGHTS: Don’t forget to book a flight. The closest airport is Lihue International Airport (LIH).
  6. SCHEDULE: All events are unopposed and included in the standard registration fee, except the luau. A typical day has sessions available from 6:30 am – 5:15 pm, including a breakfast seminar or continental breakfast, general sessions, lunch seminar, afternoon program, evening banyan tree session and occasional sunset seminars and other special events. Visit our website to see details specific to each program.
  7. ATTIRE: Dress code is resort casual – shorts and Hawaiian shirts are worn by many attendees and faculty.
  8. FACULTY: The faculty wear leis, so you can easily identify and approach them with questions.
  9. GUESTS/FAMILY: Many attendees bring guests or family to spend time with after sessions.
  10. HULA LESSIONS: Learn the basic steps and hand gestures along with music and culture.
  11. LUAU TICKETS: Invite family or guests to an authentic Hawaiian luau on Thursday evening. An additional fee is required and includes entertainment, drinks and dinner/dessert buffets. Pre-registration will open this summer as there will be assigned seating on a first-come, first-served basis
  12. LOCATION DETAILS: Kauai’s green and lush scenery make it an attendee-favorite location! It’s home to the famous Napali Coast offering breathtaking views of mountains, waterfalls and rainforests; as well as the Waimea Canyon, described as "The Grand Canyon of the Pacific." Kauai also boasts an extraordinary helicopter tour, as most of the Garden Isle’s land is uninhabited and inaccessible from the ground.
  13. EXCURSION DISCOUNTS: See the “Tours and Activities” booth onsite – exclusive to attendees – for excursion assistance and discounts.
  14. MEETING APP: Download the official meeting app in January to preview faculty presentations. Complimentary Wi-Fi will be available in the meeting rooms. Use the app to follow along to presentations as well as to submit questions and receive answers in real-time.
  15. SOCIAL MEDIA: Share comments and photos live from the meeting with #HawaiianEyeMtg and #RetinaMeeting.
