“Open Your Eyes to Private Equity” Debuts One Day Prior to OSN New York

Thorofare, NJ – Open Your Eyes to Private Equity will be held November 14, 2019 from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel in New York City. Brought to you by Ocular Surgery News (OSN), the program will be held one day prior to the 28th Annual OSN New York Meeting and at the same hotel. OSN New York registrants receive complimentary admittance, other physicians and administrators may attend for $189 (registration will open in March).

Open Your Eyes to Private Equity is a first-of-its-kind program, featuring hands-on experience and opportunities to interact with knowledgeable experts across the private equity spectrum -- from private equity executives, brokers and investment bankers to physicians and administrators – offering perspective from every angle of private equity investment in an ophthalmic practice.

“Attendees are highly encouraged to bring the tough questions they want honest answers to in order to get the most out of this dynamic and thought-provoking experience.”

-- John B. Pinto, Program Moderator

Attendees will benefit from a dynamic, interactive program including expert presentations and five lively panel discussions exploring the opportunities and challenges of private equity. The program also gets up close and personal by offering small, intimate group discussions.

Attendees will join faculty and private equity representatives, brokers and consultants for two 25-minute interactive roundtables where they can ask questions and explore topics in-depth. The whole day’s collaborative efforts are focused on attendees receiving hard-hitting insight that will better equip them to make one of the most important decisions for their practice – should they follow a significant trend in ophthalmology and partner with or sell to a private equity investor? Private equity has arrived and will impact the entire eye care industry, even the majority of practices that choose to remain independent.

To facilitate these discussions, OSN has named John B. Pinto as Moderator. Pinto is a nationally-renowned practice management expert. He has a long-standing relationship with OSN as a columnist and business blogger on Healio.com. Since 1979, Pinto’s ophthalmic practice management consulting firm, J. Pinto & Associates, Inc., has been providing strategy, operations and marketing insight to clients worldwide.

“This meeting is timely and vital. Most practice owners don’t yet know the inner workings of private equity. Private equity is neither ‘good’ nor ‘bad’ but simply another business development option for practice owners. At the end of the day, we want physicians and administrators to know what they’re getting into…or foregoing,” Pinto said.

An outstanding Program Committee has been assembled to moderate panel discussions throughout the day, including OSN’s chief medical editor Richard L. Lindstrom, MD; CEO and practice administrator Tracy J. Kenniff, MBA, OCS; investment banker Eric Major; and Carl Zeiss Meditec’s global president James V. Mazzo. Additional panelists will be invited to round out experience and perspective on each topic.

OSN (published by SLACK Incorporated) and its online home at Healio.com are the official media partners of Open Your Eyes to Private Equity and OSN New York. The meeting is organized by AMS, a meeting management company for healthcare specialists. AMS and SLACK are members of the Wyanoke Group.
