DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. — As the pace of change in U.S. health care continues to accelerate, gastroenterology physicians and practice managers must proactively seek the best strategies and approaches to run their practices most effectively.
The American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) presents GI Outlook (GO) 2019: The Practice Management Conference, August 2 to 4 in Hollywood, California, where attendees will hear from the best and the brightest in the field and share real-world experiences with their peers.
Led by Course Directors Klaus Mergener, MD, PhD, MBA, FASGE, and Glenn Littenberg, MD, MACP, FASGE, GO 2019 will provide the insights and tools practices need to continue to provide high-quality care to patients in an economically viable manner. Through pre-conference workshops, practice case studies and interactive sessions, this conference will offer practical solutions and skill-building opportunities for practices of all sizes and models.

Here are a few of the many highlights of GO 2019:
- National expert Bret Petersen, MD, FASGE, will provide an update on endoscope reprocessing and the latest infection control mandates from the FDA.
- Jack Lewin, MD, chairman of the National Coalition on Health Care, will discuss the implications of anticipated health care reform models on the practice of gastroenterology.
- Pre-conference workshops on practice management “must haves” as well as special considerations for transitions will be led by Randy Farber, MSHA, CEO of California’s largest private practice GI physician group, and Joseph Vicari, MD, FASGE, chair of ASGE’s Committee on Practice Management and former managing partner of a large independent GI group in Illinois.
Throughout the entire conference, there will be ample opportunity to participate in interactive sessions, ask questions and network with peers. An evening reception will extend this opportunity in a relaxed and collegial atmosphere.
“This year in particular, we want to give participants a lot of take-home, ‘let’s get this done,’ practical ideas,” Littenberg said.
