SAN DIEGO — In this video exclusive, M. Chadi Alraies, MD, interventional cardiology fellow at Wayne State University, Detroit Heart Hospital, discusses his highlights from TCT 2018, including didactic sessions that provided useful tips and tricks for daily practice and the new Interactive Training Workshops that offered attendees the opportunity for hands-on learning.
The new hands-on learning feature had interactive areas and workshops focusing on the spectrum of interventional cardiology, from endovascular procedures to transcatheter aortic valve replacement to advanced imaging and more. The workshops provided “hands-on experience, including wires and devices we usually don’t have access to in different labs,” Alraies, a Cardiology Today Next Gen Innovator, said.
Alraies also highlights new data presented on the axillary artery as an acceptable alternative access site in patients with peripheral vascular disease and cardiogenic shock.
