The most prevalent allergic diseases are atopic dermatitis, allergic asthma, allergic rhinitis, and food allergies. These diseases affect 17%, 8.5%, 40% and 8% of US children, respectively1,2 and substantial percentages of adults as well. These prevalences are increasing at a rapid rate.
