Gastric cancer (adenocarcinoma) is recognized as the fourth most common cancer and carries a high mortality rate. Gastric cancer presents a significant public health challenge, especially among developing countries where incidence rates are highest. There are several known risk factors for gastric cancer, but it is important to first distinguish the 2 types of gastric cancer.
