In the United States, colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most common type of cancer and the second leading cause of cancer death. There is good evidence that screening individuals greater than 50 years of age reduces colorectal cancer mortality. There are several screening tests that can be used for primary screening of average-risk adults.
