It is well known that the diagnosis of small bowel Crohn’s disease (CD) can be challenging, especially when the disease is located proximal to the terminal ileum. In addition, the diagnosis is not based on a single gold standard test, but the combination of history, physical exam, imaging, endoscopy, and histology.
