Colon cancer is one of the most common cancers worldwide. In the United States, colon and rectal cancers are third in incidence amongst all cancers and third in cancer-related mortality.1 An estimated 102,900 of colon cancer cases and 39,670 cases of rectal cancer were estimated to have been diagnosed in 2010 in the United States.1 Colon cancer can present with symptoms of incomplete or complete colonic obstruction.
