Small bowel endoscopy refers to endoscopic examination of the small intestine using any method, including wireless capsule and push enteroscopy. Device-assisted enteroscopy refers to specific endoscopic examination of the small intestine, utilizing an assistive device such as a balloon or spiral overtube.
