Nutrition is an important part of daily life. However, for many patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) eating can be a particular challenge because the associated disease affects the gastrointestinal tract. This may lead to a variety of nutritional problems that influence the intake, absorption, and utilization of both macro- and micronutrients.
