Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), specifically ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn’s disease (CD), commonly affects women during their childbearing years, with a peak age of onset between 15 and 30 years of age.1 Because of this, the effects of pregnancy on IBD and of IBD on pregnancy become important.
