ATLANTA — In this video, Stanley M. Fineman, MD, MBA, FACAAI, provides a preview of a session he is moderating on Sunday that focuses on pediatric patients with allergies and asthma.
“Food allergies are a major problem in pediatrics,” Fineman, in private practice with the Atlanta Allergy and Asthma Clinic, and immediate past president of the ACAAI, told Healio Allergy/Immunology. “We’re seeing an increased prevalence of food allergies.”
He said the session will explore future treatment options for children with food allergies whose current primary treatment option is avoidance.
The session is also scheduled to address pediatric asthma, which is increasing in prevalence, Fineman said.
