Transosseous, endobutton distal bicep repair can offer similar clinical outcomes

July 27, 2015

A high degree of patient satisfaction, strength restoration, premorbid function and low complication rates were observed after distal biceps repairs with a two-incision approach, with no differences observed between transosseous suture repair and endobutton repair with regard to subjective patient ratings, range of motion or supination strength, according to study results.

Researchers reviewed data for 46 patients (mean age: 50 years) at an average 2.1 years after undergoing two-incision distal biceps repair. Of the patients studied, 27 patients underwent transosseuos suture repair and 19 patients underwent endobutton repair.
