Expanding Orthopedics receives patent for vertebral compression fracture device

Expanding Orthopedics Inc. has received a patent for its  expandable device for treatment of vertebral compression fractures, which is based on its expanding platform technology.

“This new device will be a step forward in the treatment of vertebral compression fractures,” Mark M. Levy, MD, an orthopedic surgeon and founder of Expanding Orthopedics, a medical device company developing innovative solutions for spinal care, stated in a company press release. “The device is expected to offer numerous advantages over current devices and techniques with its multidimensional expansion, by enabling a unilateral, minimal invasive approach as well as anatomical fit for better load support and height maintenance.”
