Target Audience: The intended audience for the activity is
rheumatologists, physical medicine and rehabilitation specialists, sports
medicine physicians, and other healthcare professionals involved in the
treatment of patients with osteoarthritis.
Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this
activity participants should be able to:
- Describe the diagnostic criteria for OA to better diagnose and treat
OA in patient populations that are not diagnosed or inadequately treated.
- Utilize evidence-based guidelines to develop a patient-centered,
multimodal approach in the chronic management of OA.
- Discuss the currently available evidence-based guidelines for the
management of OA, and evaluate new evidence-based pharmacologic and
nonpharmacologic therapies to treat OA to improve patient outcomes.
