CHICAGO – Bausch + Lomb’s silicone CapsuleGuard IA line has been extended from two to 10 single-use instruments, the company announced during the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery annual meeting.

The expanded CapsuleGuard line, part of the company’s Storz Ophthalmic Instruments line, offers cataract surgeons more options for incisions and techniques for irrigation and aspiration, according to a company news release.

The expanded line includes a smaller MICS 1.8 mm incision option, along with the standard 2.2 mm to 2.8 mm incision ranges, and includes three additional tip designs.

The line is compatible with B+L’s Stellaris PC Vision Enhancement System and other surgical platforms, the release said.
