Abstract
The Case
A 2-year-old adopted Chinese girl presented with heterochromia irides with a brilliant-blue right eye and a brown left eye. External examination revealed dystopia canthorum with an inner canthal measurement of 36 mm and confluent eyebrows (synophrys). Anterior segment examination revealed that each pupil reacted briskly to light, the lenses were clear, and the corneas had equal diameters. The posterior poles were normal with well-vascularized optic nerves with a cup-to-disc ratio of 0.3 bilaterally. Binocular fixation was present with no eye deviations. Cycloplegic refraction revealed a +0.50 sphere in each eye. General examination revealed bilateral sensorineural deafness. The family history was unknown.
