Troutman Prize Troutman Prize
For 20 years, the Troutman Prize has stood for excellence. With a $5,000 prize, it encourages and rewards outstanding contributions to literature by a clinician or vision scientist. The award stands as a tradition to honor Richard Troutman, MD. We encourage young authors to contribute articles to the Journal of Refractive Surgery to further shape the hallmark of the Troutman Prize. The winner will be announced at the ISRS fall meeting.

Open to ISRS members 45 years of age or younger.

Waring Medal Waring Medal
The Waring Medal for editorial excellence is awarded to an author who has made a significant contribution to the Journal of Refractive Surgery.

Sponsored by SLACK Incorporated, the award consists of a medal and a $5,000 prize. The medal represents the tenure and contributions of George O. Waring III, MD, FACS, FRCOphth, Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Refractive Surgery from 1989 to 2010.

The award is open to all authors regardless of age, professional degree, or academic/institutional affiliation.

We encourage authors to contribute their articles to the Journal of Refractive Surgery to be considered for this distinguished award.
