What do I do about uncivil student behavior in the classroom? For example, minor incivilities such as talking, laughing, or answering cell phones during class or more serious behaviors related to differences and “othering,” like racial slurs or inappropriate jokes.
When I pose questions to the class, the same people always respond. How do I engage the others?
